Phelps County Ethanol Plant Submits DEQ Air Permits
 
Holdrege, Nebraska - August 30, 2006 - Phelps County Ethanol, L.L.C. is nearing its last step to begin building their ethanol plant in Phelps County, just 2 1/2 miles southwest of Holdrege.
Olsson Associates has recently submitted the required D.E.Q. (Department of Environmental Quality) Air Permit applications for approval.
 
 
 

              Phelps County Ethanol, L.L.C. is a subsidiary of Midwest Ethanol Producers, L.L.C. of O'Neill, Nebraska.The Holdrege plant will be permitted to produce more than 100 million gallons of ethanol each year, along with 256,000 tons of dry distillers grain(a high protein cattle feed), and will consume more than 37 million bushels of corn annually.
              The plant will provide 45 professional, skilled and semi-skilled employment opportunities, with compensation packages averaging $52,000.00 per year including benefits.
The plant will pump millions of dollars into the local and area economies through higher wages, contract and sub-contract labor, sales and property tax revenue, improved infrastructure, and higher corn prices for farmers.
              Technology will be Vogelbusch and Engineering by CJ Schneider Engineering Co. out of Omaha. Both companies have recently completed Cornhusker Energy in Lexington, Nebraska. Aventine Renewable Energy, Inc. is handling the ethanol marketing duties.

              Olsson Associates of Holdrege, is handling geotechnical and materials testing.

              Ground breaking is scheduled to be late in the 4th quarter of 2006, with production slated for the 1st quarter of 2008.

              This will be the second planned plant for Midwest Ethanol Producers, Inc. They are currently in the construction stages for a 100 MMGY Plant in O'Neill, Nebraska with future sites also planned for Arapahoe, NE; Elm Creek, NE; and Blenco, IA.

Monona County Board Of Supervisors Approve Road Closure For Proposed Ethanol Plant
 
 
Blencoe, IA- August 30th, 2006 - On August 22nd, the Monona County Board Of Supervisors approved a request to close Holly Avenue which would run in the middle of two tracts of land earmarked for a proposed ethanol plant. Holly Avenue is a 1 mile stretch of road that runs north and south between County Road E54(Appoximately 6 miles South of Onawa) and 280th St. (Approximately 1 mile North of

Blencoe). The road will not be closed until construction of the proposed plant begins.

              The ethanol plant will be owned by Monona County Ethanol, L.L.C., a subsidiary of Midwest Ethanol Producers, L.L.C. of O'Neill, Nebraska. The next step in the process is to get the 477 acres rezoned from agricultural to industrial use. A public informational meeting should take place by mid September. The exact date, time, and location will be announced in the very near future.
